What is hired in plant insurance?

Hired in plant insurance is an add-on to a public liability policy that protects businesses relying on rented equipment from the financial impact of attempted theft, theft, or accidental damage of machinery or tools. Available with three levels of cover (£10k, £25k, and £50k) suitable for all trades, it shields companies like construction firms and contractors from costly repair or replacement bills, project delays, and lost revenue.

For example, if a hired digger is unexpectedly damaged on-site, your business could be liable for thousands in repair costs. This cover ensures business continuity, protecting you from unforeseen expenses.

How Much Does Hired in Plant Insurance Cost?

Almost every business should consider public liability insurance. Whether you’re a contractor working on third-party properties or a small business owner dealing with customers, it protects against unexpected claims.
Some key sectors that benefit from public liability insurance include:

  • Tradespeople
  • Freelancers
  • Consultants
  • Couriers

Without liability insurance, even minor incidents, like damaging a client’s property, could lead to costly claims and legal fees, putting your business at financial risk. Protect your livelihood and reputation with the right coverage for your needs.

We offer three levels of cover tailored to meet various business needs:

  • £10,000 Cover
  • £25,000 Cover
  • £50,000 Cover

These levels allow you to select the right option based on your equipment's value and your risk needs, with premiums starting from as little as £14.92* per month. Factors such as industry, the type of equipment, and its replacement cost can also affect the overall price.

With competitive pricing and comprehensive cover, hired in plant insurance offers peace of mind to help keep your projects moving forward, no matter what.
