Public Liability insurance protects businesses across a range of industries, against compensation claims and legal costs resulting from mishaps at work, such as personal injuries, loss of, or damage to property.
Public Liability can protect your business if a member of the public, such as a customer, claims that they have been injured or have had their property damaged because of your work. Our Public Liability insurance covers you when you’re on your premises and working off-site.
Public Liability insurance is for businesses that work in person with customers, on-site, or in public areas. In short, it’s for businesses that work in environments where there is the possibility that their work may injure a member of the public or damage their property.
This type of insurance is optional, but it's worth checking with your clients and potential clients whether they have any obligations for this cover. They may require you to have a certain level of cover so that you can work together.
Our Public Liability starts from £6.07* per month. Your quote is tailored to you and your needs, so the cost may change to reflect the risks you need to be covered against.
*£6.07 is the price for a Public Liability policy for a single carpenter with £1,000,000 worth of cover. It is the equivalent of £72.80 per year when paying for the policy in one annual payment. Your quote will be personalised to your requirements and will reflect the risks you need to be covered against. The price is correct as of 28th April 2025
Public Liability does not cover:
Incidents like these should be covered under your general business insurance policy and/or your employer's Liability insurance policy.
If you already have a policy with us, you can read more about your cover in your policy docs. Your policy documents will have been sent to you in the post or via email. If you would like another copy, please get in touch with our customer care team via email at contact@admiralbusiness.com, or call the team on 020 3808 7099.
Public Liability insurance covers claims made against your business if a member of the public, such as a customer, claims that they have been injured because of your work.
It does not cover personal injury claims from employees who have been injured on the job. These incidents can be covered by Employers Liability insurance.
Yes, we can! Our cover is assessed and provided based on our acceptance criteria. If you are interested, you can reach us on 020 3808 7099.
Employers Liability insurance protects your business against legal expenses and compensation costs, if someone you employ or have previously employed, becomes ill or injured as a result of the work they have completed for you.
Employers Liability insurance is a legal requirement for most businesses with 1 or more employees. Employees are defined as contractors, casual, permanent, temporary, full, or part-time staff. However, you may not need EL insurance if you only employ a family member, someone who is based abroad, or if your business is a public organisation or health service. It’s worth checking gov.uk to see how you measure up against these requirements.
If you're exempt, you can still opt to take Employers Liability cover. Those exempt sometimes choose to take EL cover, just in case there is an unexpected work-related injury or illness claim from one of their employees.
Our Employers Liability insurance covers the legal and compensation costs if an employee were to make a claim against you due to work-related illness or injury. The claims we cover include:

Professional Indemnity Insurance (PII) is essential insurance protection for anyone who provides a service or advice. Regardless of how many years of experience, your firm may have, there is always the possibility you (or one of your team) could make a mistake.
Professional Indemnity Insurance protects you if a client or third-party claims against you because they think you have done something wrong. In many cases, you may not have done anything wrong, but you will require the policy to defend your business from expensive litigation instigated by a disgruntled client.
A retroactive date means that a Professional Indemnity policy is providing you with protection for your work carried out after that date. For example, if the policy has a retroactive date of the 1st of January 2015, you would be covered for claims made against you for your work carried out after 1st January 2015.
The limit of indemnity (LOI) is the amount of cover provided under the Professional Indemnity policy.
Calculating the right amount is not an exact science, but getting it right is especially important. Buy too much and you may waste money, but buy too little and you risk under-insuring, which could have disastrous consequences for your business.
Many organisations now insist that their Contractors carry their own Professional Indemnity Insurance. They will usually require evidence of insurance cover in the form of a policy document or a certificate.
For regulated professions such as Accountants, Chartered Surveyors, Architects, Solicitors, Financial Advisers, etc, PI is usually stipulated as a requirement of their professional bodies.
Goods in Transit insurance protects you against loss or damage, misdelivery and/or consequential Loss, and accidental delay for goods that you are carrying under a ‘Hire and Reward’ contract.
We will pay to repair or replace a handheld scanner used for business purposes up to the sub-limit value of £5,000 per insured event.
You’ll be covered up to the total sum insured for goods that have been stolen while under your control during the course of your business. You’ll also be covered for any damage to goods caused by fire, attempted theft, or as a result of misdelivery.
For further information on what we do not cover please see our policy wording.
