Why Do Glazing Installers Need Insurance?

Almost every business should consider public liability insurance. Whether you’re a contractor working on third-party properties or a small business owner dealing with customers, it protects against unexpected claims.
Some key sectors that benefit from public liability insurance include:

  • Tradespeople
  • Freelancers
  • Consultants
  • Couriers

Without liability insurance, even minor incidents, like damaging a client’s property, could lead to costly claims and legal fees, putting your business at financial risk. Protect your livelihood and reputation with the right coverage for your needs.

Accidents happen. You could crack a pane of glass, scratch a customer's floor, or spill sealant on a brand-new carpet.

Here’s why cover matters:

  • You’re working in people’s homes – if a customer trips over your ladder or you accidentally damage their kitchen floor, you could be held liable.
  • Clients expect you to be insured – some contracts won’t even let you on-site without the right cover.
  • Legal costs can add up fast – whether it’s a claim from an injured employee or a contract dispute.

Our insurance is designed to reduce stress when things go wrong and give your customers added confidence when things go right.

Some parts of your insurance package may be optional – others are legally required.

  • Public Liability Insurance isn’t legally required – but if you work with the public or on client property (which, as a double-glazing installer, you do), it’s strongly recommended and often required by your clients.
